Cleaning the feeder disc

The feeder disc is the rotating part that meters beans onto the burrs. Coffee oils and fines build up over time and cause stalling or “beans not feeding”, so clean it when feeding gets unreliable.

Use the speed dial to put the feeder into Maintenance Mode — this rotates the disc to a position where it lifts off easily:

  1. Start with the dial at 0.
  2. Rotate clockwise to 9.
  3. Rotate anti-clockwise to 0.
  4. Rotate clockwise to 9.
  5. Rotate anti-clockwise to 0.

A blinking light signals that Maintenance Mode is active. The feeder disc now turns clockwise and can be removed by rotating it anti-clockwise.

  1. Power off and disconnect the USB-C cable.
  2. Remove the glass container (see cleaning the glass container).
  3. Lift off the disc (anti-clockwise, after Maintenance Mode above). If it won’t come away easily, contact support rather than forcing it.
  4. Wipe the disc, the gap between the disc and the housing, and the housing top with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Clear any beans or residue. Never use abrasives on the coated surfaces.
  5. Dry completely, refit the disc and glass container, then power-cycle and run a short test feed.

After every use, make sure no beans are left trapped under the disc.
