Grinder compatibility and adapters

CremaLoop slow feeders mount on your grinder’s throat with a grinder-specific adapter. Choosing the feeder is the easy part, choosing the adapter is what most questions are about.

One feeder fits every adapter

All feeder bodies - Metal, Ultra, Pro V1 and Pro V2 - share the same bottom design, so every published grinder adapter fits every feeder. Using one feeder across several grinders is fully supported: buy one feeder plus a stand-alone adapter for each grinder.

Which route you need depends only on whether your grinder is in the table below.

A stand-alone feeder without any adapter is also available, which is what you want if you are only adding a custom adapter.

Metal or printed depends on the grinder

Adapters exist in metal for some grinders and as printed parts for others. Which one you get is shown on the product page for your grinder, so please check there rather than assuming. New metal adapters are added over time, and we poll the CremaLoop newsletter on which to manufacture next.

Your grinder is not listed

We can almost always make one. Send us two measurements from the grinder inlet:

1. Inner diameter - the opening the beans actually drop through.
2. Outer diameter - the rim the adapter ring sits on.

Add a photo of the inlet taken from directly above. We will check whether an existing adapter already fits before making a new one, then order it as a custom adapter.

If you would rather print your own

The feeder needs a 56 mm hole in whatever it sits on. That is the only dimension that matters on the feeder side, so an existing lid mod for your grinder can be adapted by opening it up to 56 mm.

Notes for specific grinders

Zerno Z1 and Z2. There are two ways to fit the feeder: directly into the grinder inlet with the stock funnel removed, or into a funnel - the stock one, or a third-party funnel such as Introvertmakes. We usually recommend fitting it directly into the grinder. Do not simply rest the feeder on the stock funnel: it is unstable that way and can fall off.

Weber EG-1. All our feeders work with the EG-1 adapter, but the plastic-bodied feeders sit a little looser on it. The Slow Feeder Metal has a sealing ring that gives a firmer fit, so that is the pairing we recommend.

Why some adapters tilt forward

Some adapters are deliberately angled so the feeder leans slightly forward. This is by design, not a fault or a wrong part: the forward tilt stops beans sitting in the feeder holes without dropping through. If your adapter looks tilted, it is meant to.
