Firmware update

CremaLoop slow feeders (Metal, Ultra, Pro V2) can be updated two ways:

1. Wi-Fi (OTA) — put the feeder in update mode, connect to its Wi-Fi, and upload the .bin through its portal. Works from any device.
2. USB-C flash from your browser — plug the feeder into a computer and click USB-C flash. Works in Chrome and Edge, and installs a clean full image.

Download the file first if updating over Wi-Fi

Connecting to the feeder’s Wi-Fi drops your normal internet connection — so download the right .bin below before you connect. (USB-C flashing fetches the file for you.) Only ever install official CremaLoop firmware.

Not sure which wave you have?

The firmware version is tied to your unit and pre-order wave. If you’re unsure, contact us with your order number and we’ll confirm the right file. Mixing v1.x and v2.x across waves is not supported.

How to update over Wi-Fi (OTA)

1. Download the firmware

Grab the .bin for your device from the cards above before you connect to the feeder (connecting drops your internet).

2. Activate update (OTA) mode

Wave 3 & newer

Wave 1 & 2

Start with the dial at 9. Turn it down to 0, up to 9, down to 0, up to 9 — and hold for 3 seconds.

A blinking LED confirms the feeder is in update mode.

3. Connect and upload

1. Connect your phone/laptop Wi-Fi to CremaLoop-XXXX (the feeder’s network).
2. Enter the Wi-Fi password cremaloop2025.
3. Open a browser to http://cremaloop.local or http://192.168.4.1.
4. Upload the .bin file you downloaded and wait for it to finish — the feeder reboots when done.

How to flash over USB-C

The USB-C flash button in the latest-firmware cards installs a clean, complete image straight from your browser — no file download needed. It’s the most reliable way to update, and it also recovers a feeder that won’t boot.

1. Plug the feeder into your computer with a USB-C data cable (some cables are power-only).
2. Click USB-C flash for your device, then select the serial port the browser shows.
3. When prompted, allow it to erase and install — flashing takes about 30–60 seconds, then the feeder reboots.

Chrome or Edge, over HTTPS

USB-C flashing uses the Web Serial API, available only in desktop Chrome and Edge (not Safari or Firefox, and not on mobile — use Wi-Fi OTA there). If the browser can’t see the board, hold the BOOT button while plugging in USB-C, then release.

A USB-C flash is a clean install

It writes a full image and erases the chip, so any stored settings (e.g. saved Wi-Fi credentials) are reset — the feeder comes back on factory defaults. USB-C flashing installs the latest build (v2.1 / v1.3); to go back to an older version, use Wi-Fi OTA with a previous .bin below.

Previous versions

Older firmware, kept here in case you need to roll back — install these over Wi-Fi OTA (see How to update). The newest build is recommended for everyone else (see Latest firmware).
